Actress Shila Ommi can currently be “seen” in Elemental as matchmaker Cinder Lumen. Ommi talked to CinemAddicts co-host Eric Holmes about the well received animated feature and why she loves doing voiceover work. Full interview from our Deepest Dream YouTube Channelis below!
“I love voiceover work so much,” said Shila Ommi. “I feel like with the arts, it’s a tightrope you’re walking on – with whatever you do. For film acting you are walking on a tightrope with your voice, emotions, (and) physically. When you’re doing animation, at least the physical tightrope is out of the way. That’s a really tough one for me and I have to do a lot of preparation for it to make sure I’m not too big or not too bland. Animation, I can just have fun and be physical and I don’t have as much prepartion for it as on camera work. I have much more fun with it.”
That said, Ommi has an extensive on camera resume as an actress. Eric pointed out one of her first movies (Charlie Wilson’s War) in the interview. Plus, he praises her directing feature Wake Up Sleeping Beauty and the series Tehran. All of these projects are covered in the talk. Take a listen and tell us what you think!!
