Kino Lorbert Studio Classics is releasing a special edition version of the 1985 feature Secret Admirer on Blu-ray. The feature is a brand new HD Master from a “2K Scan of the 35mm Interpositive.” Special features details are below!
Even though I am a cinephile and a Generation Xer, I have yet to see Secret Admirer. The poster has been embedded in my subconscious for nearly 40 years, so I am looking forward to checking out this Blu-ray release.
The story centers on Michael (C. Thomas Howell), a high school heartthrob who receives an unsigned love letter. He assumes it’s from prom queen Deborah Anne (Kelly Preston) and not from honor student Toni (Lori Loughlin).
Michael accidentally misplaces the letter, leading to its share of high school drama. The first rate ensemble includes Fred Ward, Dee Wallace, Leigh Taylor-Young, and Casey Siemaszko.
Bonus features include a new audio commentary by director David Greenwalt, co-writer Jim Kouf and associate producer Lynn Kouf. The commentary is moderated by historian/filmmaker Daniel Kremer. Also included are radio spots, theatrical trailer and optional English Subtitles.
Let us know if Secret Admirer (SRP: $24.95) is on your shopping list come March 7!! As of this post, the disc is available for pre-order ($16.59) on Kino Lorber’s site.
