Actor Lucas Jade Zumann and director Julia Verdin talked to Deepest Dream about “No Address,” a movie that centers on a group of individuals who are experiencing homelessness. Verdin describes her work as “social impact” filmmaking, and the movie is now out in theaters. The ensemble includes Kristanna Loken, Patricia Velasquez, Ashanti, Ty Pennington, Beverly D’Angelo, William Baldwin and Isabella Ferreira (she and Zumann are the feature’s main characters). Check out my interview with Zumann and Verdin below!

Inspired by true events, “No Address” is director Julia Verdin’s companion piece to her 2024 documentary “Americans With No Address.” “Seeing the documentary being made alongside this film headed by Julia,” said Lucas Jade Zumann. “I really do feel like there was an approach to the realism that was necessary when tackling this.”

“I come from a background of social impact filmmaking, and I’m very passionate about using film to raise awareness on key social issues,” said Verdin. “I’ve tackled teen trafficking, domestic violence and some other issues previously. So when I saw the growth of the number of people on our streets during the pandemic, I just couldn’t get this idea out of my head. And I’m a great believer in using narrative to engage interest and then having a documentary as an educational follow up, because people will watch a documentary once they’re interested in a topic. But a narrative feature can have the ability to get an audience interested in a topic and go a little bit deeper and watch a documentary and get a little bit more informed. So that was my goal with (No Address).”
No Address is now playing in theaters, and for more insight on the film, check out our interview with Julia Verdin and Lucas Jade Zumann.
