Nina Bergman delivers an inspired and powerhouse performance in director Jesse V. Johnson’s Hell Hath No Fury. The narrative is based on the true story of Marie DuJardin (Nina Bergman), a French national who promises to lead several American soldiers to a cache of gold. Bergman talked to Deepest Dream about reuniting with Johnson for Hell Hath No Fury.
Much of Hell Hath No Fury’ssuccess lies in Bergman’s performance. Marie Dujardin is branded a traitor by her compatriots, has a history with a high ranking Nazi, and is being bullied by the Americans. With no one on her side, Marie must use her wits and inner strength to survive this harrowing ordeal.
“I had to lose weight really fast,” said Bergman, who ‘researched like crazy’ for the feature. “Luckily Jesse V. Johnson had us shoot it chronological order so as I deteriorated throughout the shoot, so did she. And every bruise and scar was pretty much real. It was physically demanding from the point of me not doing all the physical punching and kicking that I normally do, but I was on the receiving end. I’m getting tackled, pushed, shoved. My character was a victim of her circumstances.”
