Since This Is Us has touched and affected the lives of many a viewer, the program must be a gratifying experience for the actors. Milo Ventimiglia talked about the show’s ecosystem:

“I think it’s a cycle. It’s a perfect circle that goes around and around and it feeds – this is going to sound ridiculous – it’s like one of those wax, encased, perfect ecosystems where there’s condensation and it creeps up at the top and it drizzles down and it turns into new life. I feel very much the connection to the audience that is enjoying the show and it inspires me, I know when I’m on set, looking at Mandy’s eyes to be like ‘let me give her my all so that she can use that and just pass that on.’

You’re in that cycle – in that circle of I guess a combination of excitement and determination and thrill . . . and everything. I don’t know. It’s hard to describe but it’s definitely exciting knowing that people are taking in the show and enjoying the show.”

For Mandy Moore, she understands the show’s impact and realizes that this is also a special project for her:

“The show feels important. It feels important to people and their lives. They have a deep connection with it. They are able to see their life mirrored back to them – or the life of their family or friends. To be a part of something in that regard. That has such significance and resonance with people  – I’ve never been a part of anything like that in my career. So I’m just trying to take it all in and soak in every moment.”

This Is Us airs Tuesday nights on NBC (9 pm et/pt).
