It was three years ago when Kasey Bella Suarez made “Notice To Quit,” and now the teenager gets to watch the feature with her friends and loved ones starting today. Suarez was just “ten or eleven” when she was the co-lead in the comedy drama which is now playing in theaters. The actress talked about working with co-star Michael Zegen, why “Notice To Quit” was a special experience, and her goals for acting down the road.

“Notice To Quit,” written and directd by Simon Hacker, centers on a New York City realtor named Andy (Michael Zegen) who makes ends meet renting dilapidated apartments. Unable to make his own rent and stressed out, Andy is surprised by his 10-year-old daughter Anna (Kasey Bella Suarez) who wants to spend the day with him.

A plethora of things go wrong on this hot summer day, and Andy is not exactly thrilled to be spending quality time with his daughter due to his predicament. Andy initially has no idea that this may be Anna’s last day in New York thanks to an impending move to Florida. Will the pair find common ground in this anxiety and bittersweet story? Check out my interview with Kasey Bella Suarez for a few “Notice to Quit” insights:

Even though Andy may not exactly be the model parent, Anna is still eager to spend quality time with her pops. “I think her dad is her main priority,” said Suarez. “Knowing that she’s moving to Florida with her mom, the first thing she wanted to do was visit her dad, and she’s always been patient with her dad and she knows her dad very well. And I think it doesn’t really matter how her dad like acts towards her. It’s just the fact that she’s spending time with her dad that’s like really special with her. And I think that was very easy to carry with me since I love my dad. And Michael was like a dad to me on set, and it was just very easy, like we connected very well. So that connection was definitely there.”

Suarez has a huge head start on acting, and it’s a profession that she continues to explore. “(Acting) just means so much to me and moving forward, that’s all I really want to do,” said Suarez, whose credits include ‘You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah’ and the upcoming movie ‘Your Monster.’ “(I’m) just focusing myself on acting. It makes me happy. Not even just seeing myself on screen, but getting to know more people. Acting has really helped me open myself up to talking more. It’s just helped me with everything.”
