One Big Happy has its freshman season finale tonight (NBC, 9:30 pm et/pt) with the episode “Wedlocked.” Actress Elisha Cuthbert took time out of her busy morning to talk about her experiences on the comedy (which co-stars Nick Zano and Kelly Brook), collaborating with creator Liz Feldman, and also working with filmmaker Courteney Cox on Just Before I Go.
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe!“One Big Happy” centers on best friends Lizzy (Cuthbert) and Luke (Zano) as they decide to start their own family. Lizzy, who is a lesbian, sees Luke as the perfect father, and their bond won’t be easily broken. Their baby plans take a dynamic shift when Luke has spontaneously marries Prudence (Brook), a carefree British girl who adds her share of neurosis (and, of course, humor) into the mix.
Hopefully tonight’s season finale will bleed into a second season, as creator Liz Feldman and the ensemble have crafted a well written and acted sitcom.
“To do six (episodes) is tricky,” says Cuthbert, whose previous TV work includes 24 and Happy Endings. “It’s not a whole lot of time to show everyone who these characters are but I think we did our best at that. It would be fantastic to be able to keep going. There is going to be a lot of funny (moments with) Lizzy being pregnant and the bigger she gets the more uncomfortable she’s going to get. I think there will be a lot to write about there – for sure.”
