I had the pleasure of attending the NBC/Universal TCA Day where Jill Flint and Eoin Macken talked about the upcoming fourth season of The Night Shift. During the chat Macken was able to briefly discuss his new book Hunter and the Grape, a plug that was actually aided by Flint. Video of Flint and Macken is available after the jump.

In the video below, Macken explains how directing and writing his own material (he penned the 2015 book Kingdom of Scars) has given him a deeper appreciation of acting. Jill Flint actually brought up Macken’s work outside of The Night Shift at the beginning of the video, and throughout the clip it’s evident that the pair have a very supportive friendship. The book Macken refers to at the end of the video is Hunter and the Grape (he says the book, which centers on a 18-year-old boy’s road trip from Albuquerque to Los Angeles, is partly inspired by Jack Kerouac’s On The Road).

Hunter and the Grape, comes out this fall via Poolbeg Books and The Night Shift returns for its fourth season on June 22 (NBC, 9/8c).
