Ed Sheeran gets his own special, as Ed Sheeran – Live at Wembley Stadium airs Sunday, April 16 (8 pm et/pt) on NBC. The program, which includes a duet with Sir Elton John, also features Sheeran performing his Grammy nominated track “The A Team” and the hit single “Thinking Out Loud.”
Thank you for reading this post, don't forget to subscribe! The special also includes previously unseen footage of the moments leading up to Sheeran’s sold-out shows at Wembley, in which he played to an estimated 240,000 fans through three sold-out evenings.
“I can’t say that performing at Wembley Stadium was a ‘dream come true,’ because I honestly thought it was out of reach and didn’t think it was possible,” said Sheeran. “But with each tour, the venues continued to grow and it became something of a challenge to see how far we could take it, how big we could go and still deliver a show that connected with the entire audience. It really doesn’t get any bigger than Wembley in my mind and it was an honour to join the select few that have headlined there. It’s definitely a personal milestone and I’m so glad to share this special moment with all of my fans.”
Blessed with solid production, songwriting, and singing skills, Sheeran is an artist who’s more than willing to show a bit of vulnerability, as witnessed by his latest music video “Photograph.” Check out the vid below, which is a “remembrance of things past” look at the 24-year-old artist:
