Want to know more about celebrated musician Dave Stewart’s life? His musical feature “Ebony McQueen,” directed by Shekhar Kapur, starts production in 2025 via Dave Stewart Entertainment. The movie will draw inspiration from Stewart’s formative years.
“Ebony McQueen” is a semi-autobiographical narrative centers on Charlie McGarvey, a youth whose pro footballer dreams are dashed after a devastating injury. Charlie finds solace and inspiration for creating music, and though his world may be crumbing, his artistic life provides him with strength to move forward.
Dave Stewart, who is providing songs for the film, wrote the script with Lorne Campbell, Selma Dimitrijevic and Peter Souter. Oscar winning composer A.R. Rahman (“Slumdog Millionaire”) provides the score for the feature.
Co-founder of Eurythmics, Stwart has been honored with a Golden Globe and GRAMMY Award, and he was recently inducted into the GRAMMY Hall of Fame. “Ebony McQueen” is set in Stewart’s hometown of Sunderland, UK.
