California outfit Thrice have targeted a September 20 release date for their newest single “Open Your Eyes and Dream” via Epitaph Records. You can pre-save the track on Spotify, Apple Music, and Deezerhere.
“Open Your Eyes and Dream” follows this year’s release of the single “Dead Wake” and the acoustice version of “Scavengers.” Their latest album, “Horizons/East,” was released in September 2021 (and features “Scavengers”).
“It’s so very easy to believe that big systemic issues can’t change because we’ve lived with them our whole lives. But if you look back and zoom out a bit it’s easy to see that this feeling of permeance and inevitability is just an illusion. Most things seem impossible until they happen. This song is about opening our eyes to that reality, and being willing to dream something better into existence,” shares singer Dustin Kensrue.
Thrice will play September 23 at Furnace Fest (Birmingham, AL) and return to California for an October 8 date in Sacramento for the Aftershock Festival 2022.
Their House of Blues Anaheim dates, running 12/15-18 are sold out.
I’m a huge fan of their acoustive version of “Scavengers,” and “Dead Wake” was a song that was crafted but not completed during their “Horizons/East” sessions.
