The mythic tale of Odysseus (Ralph Fiennes) has previously been captured in cinema. Kirk Douglas starred as the King in the 1954 feature Ulysses, and now Fiennes takes on the iconic part. Juliette Binoche, his co-star in “The English Patient,” plays Odysseus’ beleaguered wife Penelope.
Directed by Uberto Pasolini, “The Return” co-stars Charlie Plummer as Odysseus’ son Telemechus. Scarred by his journeys and participation in The Trojan War, Odysseus must summon his strength to reclaim his family and vanquish all the evildoers who are trying to usurp his power.
Pasolini penned “The Return” screenplay with Edward Bond and John Collee.
