The Replacements were at the forefront of alternative rock, and since their signing to Twin/Tone Records in 1980 the group’s “left of the dial” sound still resonates with music fans. Rhino is spotlighting the outfit with a new vinyl boxed set of their first four albums (Sorry Ma, Forgot to Take Out the Trash – Stink – Hootenanny – Let It Be).
The albums, which haven’t been pressed on vinyl for over two decades, will be released as a limited edition of 8,000 copies, carrying a suggested price of $74.98. The collection comes out August 11 during Record Store Day’s “Vinyl Tuesday” initiative.
A second vinyl box set, which spotlights The Replacements’ four albums during their run with Sire Records, comes out later this year (also via Rhino).
