Actress America Ferrera’s career started off with the well received 2002 drama Real Women Have Curves, and since then she’s carved out a successful career on television (Ugly Betty) and film (The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants and How To Train Your Dragon movies). Now she’s anchoring the new series Superstore,  which also co-stars Ben Feldman (Mad Men) as the new kid in town.

During the interviews for Superstore, Ferrera, who plays floor supervisor and name tag changer (if you watch the show, you’ll get the reference!) Amy in the series, talks about how her priorities as an actor and producer has changed as she’s gained experience in her career:

“Over the years I’ve come to embrace the challenge of using my voice and figuring out what I care about, what I love in the world and using my platform as an actor (and as) a producer to represent those parts of my experience that I don’t see represented on television and in film. So that is what drives me.”
