Great news for film lovers this morning, as the TCM Classic Film Festival returns to Hollywood, Ca. starting April 21. The event, which runs from Thursday through Sunday (April 24), will revolve around the theme “All Together Now: Back to the Big Screen.”

Per usual, the festival’s official center will be The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, aka the site of the first Academy Awards ceremony. Along with an extensive and diverse screening schedule, the TCM Classic Film Festival also treats cinephiles to a wide variety of stars and filmmakers to the event.

Kim Novak (Vertigo), the late Maureen O’Hara (How Green Was My Valley, and late editor Anne V. Coates (Lawrence of Arabia) are just a few of the artists that I had the pleasure of listening to after their respective screenings.

“We are thrilled to be returning to Hollywood for our 13th festival next spring,” said Pola Changnon, general manager, TCM. “We were grateful to share the TCM Classic Film Festival with fans virtually the last two years, but there’s nothing like being in a theater enjoying the movies the way they were meant to be seen—on the big screen.”

Last year’s virtual festival was streamed on HBO Max, and custom programming from the festival will also be feautred on the platform.

Passes for the 2022 TCM Classic Film Festival go on sale next month and will include a one-time Early Bird discount window. The fest’s safety protocols will be based on “guidance from the CDC, the State of California and the City of Los Angeles.” For more info, check out the TCM Classic Film Festival’s official site.
