Josie
Dylan McDermott & Sophie Turner – “Josie”

Sophie Turner plays the titular character, a stranger who visits a small, Southern town and strikes up relationships with a young dude named Marcus (Jack Kilmer) and her solitary neighbor Hank (Dylan McDermott). A beautiful girl strolling into a one horse town leads to the inevitable gossip, but talk is cheap as Josie’s true (and dark) intentions of her journey gradually comes to light.

One reason why I’m pumped for Josie is it’s directed by Eric England, a filmmaker I praised on a previous CinemAddicts episode. England directed the low budget, genre bending thriller Get the Girl, and it will be interesting to see how he does with a topline cast. Plus, the movie is based on Anthony Ragnone II’s Blacklist script Huntsville, so it’s safe to assume the material has potential.

“Anthony’s story is populated with such rich characters and emotions. It was a privilege to explore and create that world with artists like Dylan and Sophie. I’m truly excited for audiences to see their performances,” said England.

The movie hits theaters March 2018 and On Demand and I’ll be providing more coverage on Josie in the weeks to come (a trailer hasn’t been released). Check out CinemAddicts Episode 56 below as I review England’s previous flick Get The Girl (my review starts at 39:30 – Anderson Cowan also reviews O.J.: Made in America in the ep).
