Getting interesting quotes and audio from a backstage press room at an awards show is a rare thing, but leave it to Golden Globe winner Phoebe Waller-Bridge (Fleabag) to step up to the plate.

Phoebe Waller-Bridge delivered insightful writing advice at the press room backstage at the Golden Globes:

“Well mainly just write, and write and write and try and stay in the present as much as possible. Don’t try and impress anybody or find one friend that you love  and you care about and write it for that person to make that person laugh and make that person cry. Because that certainly helps with me. Other than, it’s something I peddle out quite a lot, but write like you’re not afraid. That’s the thing I keep telling myself and I have to remind myself every time I sit down to the computer to do it. And then the sort of naughty writing hand comes out and that’s when it all starts cooking.”

Take a listen to the audio version of her comments:

Waller-Bridge is also putting her celebrity to use, as she is auctioning off her dress for a good cause.

“We’ve hatched an amazing plan with Ralph & Russo who are Australian designers who created this incredible couture suit which is the most extraordinary thing I’ve ever worn,” said Waller-Bridge. “We’re going to auction it and the money that is raised from it will go towards relief in Australia. So it’s a beautiful idea from the team so I’m really excited to be part of that.”

Are you a fan of Fleabag? As of this posting, I still haven’t seen the series (I’m more of a movie guy). Feel free to comment below and share your thoughts on this critically acclaimed (and from what I gather universally beloved) show!
