Mackenzie Foy is Clara in THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS

The story centers on Clara (Mackenzie Foy), a teenager who, thanks to a golden thread presented by her godfather Drosselmeyer (Morgan Freeman) is lead to a key which in turn introduces her into a new world.

From the trailer we learn that Clara’s mother created these four realms (which include the Land of Snowflakes, Land of Flowers, and Land of Sweets). Unfortunately the Fourth Realm is ruled by Mother Ginger (Helen Mirren), a ruthless ruler who brings chaos to the lands. It’s up to Clara and her newfound friends (Jayden Fowora-Knight co-stars as a soldier named Phillip and Keira Knightley is the Sugar Plum Fairy) to put an end to Mother Ginger’s reign.

Clara (Mackenzie Foy) and Phillip (Jayden Fowara-Knight) visit the Fourth Realm in Disney’s THE NUTCRACKER AND THE FOUR REALMS.

Based on E.T.A. Hoffmann’s tale, the picture is directed by Lasse Hallström (What’s Eating Gilbert Grape) and Joe Johnston (Captain America). Johnston, who came on board for reshoots, is no stranger to doing midnight hour work on productions (he replaced Mark Romanek, the original director of The Wolfman, three weeks before shooting began). Do you think having two directors is a horrible omen, or do you think this flick will deliver the goods? The Nutcracker and the Four Realms debuts November 2nd.

***And speaking of Joe Johnston, the latest episode of Matt and Greg Used To Interview Movie Stars focuses on Jumanji, a hit flick directed by Johnston.
