Nathan Hermida made an auspicious debut on The Voice with a standout version of Miguel’s song “Sure Thing.” Blessed with pinpoint guitar skills and a smooth voice, Hermida chose pop star Adam Levine, and since both artists both have a refreshingly distinct and fresh approach to their music, this pairing seems like the perfect marriage.

Hermida’s Battle Rounds matchup with Josh Batstone was unfortunately montaged, but hopefully Hermida’s knockouts will take front and center stage on The Voice.
During the interview, the Boston resident (and first generation Filipino-American) talked about his hard-working, perfectionist tendencies and he also elaborated on a few lessons he’s learned from collaborating with Levine.
I accidentally started the interview a bit late on my recording machine, so you won’t hear my first question to Hermida (I asked him about the support he receives from the Filipino community). He also goes in depth on working with Josh Batstone as they prepared for their Battle Rounds performance of “Thinking Out Loud.”
Like his approach to music, Hermida gave a very thoughtful and measured interview. Though he may not be outwardly extroverted like the average powerhouse singer, Hermida’s strengths lies in his attention to detail, and such a talent is welcome in any kind of craft.
