Donald Glover Had A “Once In A Lifetime” Experience With ‘The Lion King’ Production

Seen earlier opposite Rihanna in Guava Island, Donald Glover will next be “seen” as the voice of Simba in the live action version of Disney’s The Lion King. Glover attended Tuesday night’s Hollywood premiere at the Dolby Theatre, and he was effusive over the project.

Directed by Jon Favreau (The Jungle Book), The Lion King features Glover as the voice of Simba and James Earl Jones resuming his voice work as Mufasa. Seth Rogen serves as the voice of Pumbaa and Chiwetel Ejiofor voices Scar.

“It’s really fun to be a part of a movie that you’ve know your entire life,” said Glover who describes The Lion King as a film that he dearly loves. “I didn’t have to learn any lines. I didn’t have to learn the words to the songs. It was second nature. I think you do films like that once in a lifetime.”
