Whitesnake’s 1984 album Slide It In was the band’s first platinum-selling album, and to date it’s sold over six million copies worldwide. In celebration of its 35th anniversary Rhino and Parlophone are coming out with the seven-dsic boxed set Slide It In: The Ultimate Special Edition on March 8.

Slide It In: The Ultimate Special Edition includes newly remastered versions of the U.K. and US. mixes of the album as well as the 35th Anniversary remixes from this year. Unreleased live and studio records, music video, concert footage, and a new interview with Whitesnake founder David Coverdale are also featured in the extensive set.

The release is priced at $74.98, but fans can also opt for a double-CD deluxe edition ($24.98) which comes with the U.K. and U.S. mixes along with bonus tracks. The double-LP Deluxe Edition ($31.98) contains the newly remastered U.S. and U.K. mixes, and a single-disc version contains a newly remastered brand new mix of the album ($9.98). The release will also be available in digital formats. Pre-orders for the album are available here.

Slide It In was always meant to be a structured, more electric modern take on the classic blues-based hard rock that Whitesnake were famous for, but our new Hook City Hooligan, Mixer Extraordinaire Christopher Collier, has hand-tooled this classic record for the 21st century,” says Coverdale. “Hearing all the performances so fresh and so clear after 35 years was amazing. Mel (Galley), Cozy (Powell) and Jon’s (Lord) playing on the record is as vital now as it was all those years ago. All the featured players shine. Not only did Christopher get the best out of the recording, but he gives the album a fresh coat of sonic paint bringing it right up to date. I’m personally thrilled with it.”

Along with the title track, my personal favorite from the album is “Slow An’ Easy.” What are your favorite Whitesnake tracks? Feel free to comment below!!
